Born and raised in Virginia, Jim is a dedicated professional with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology, complemented by a minor in Sociology and Mathematics from Radford University. His career in the insurance industry began in 1992 as an Account Executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, where he gained extensive experience and skills managing large association accounts and municipalities.
In 1998, Jim took a significant step by founding his own benefits consulting firm, Commonwealth Benefits, LLC, which later evolved into IBD Benefits & Risk Management Group, Inc. His entrepreneurial spirit and expertise led him to join Jones Insurance in 2016 as a Partner and valued Advisor specializing in group benefits, individual medical benefits, disability income, ACA compliance and Medicare supplements.
Jim deeply understands the significance of our core value of being a part of something bigger, as he devotes selfless commitment, teamwork and mentorship to his community. He dedicated many years to coaching Little League baseball, a role that had a profound impact when his son earned a baseball scholarship to Mercer University in Georgia as a starting pitcher and continues to build his athletic career.
Outside of work, Jim cherishes time with his wife, Tiffany, their two children, Josh and Chloe, and their beloved dog, Bentley. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoys hunting, golfing, and camping, often sharing these activities with his twin brother.
