Jim is widely regarded as “the Medicare guru”. His 25 years of experience in the health insurance industry has given Jim the depth of knowledge to find simple answers to complex problems, whether it is for individuals or businesses.

From 1992-1996 Jim was an Account Executive with BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina. He worked extensively with small and medium size groups. His last two years with BCBSNC he worked solely in the large group market, which consisted of employer groups with more than 250 employees and multi-state locations. In 1996, he formed Commonwealth Benefits, LLC. In 2010 he merged his agency to co-found IBD Benefits & Risk Management Group, Inc.

Since joining Jones Insurance in 2016 as a partner, Jim continues to be a valued advisor on Life Insurance, Disability Income, Group and Individual Medical, Medicare Supplement, Dental, Vision, General Liability, Excess Liability, Professional Liability, and Workers Compensation.

In high school Jim played football and wrestled, but baseball is the one sport that really stuck. He coached Little League when his son played thirteen years ago and can’t seem to quit.  That selfless investment of time paid dividends when Jim’s son, Josh, got a baseball scholarship to Radford University in Virginia. Jim has “matured” to the point that he no longer runs the bases but golf, hunting, and camping keep him outdoors and active.  Jim and his wife Tiffany reside in Johnston County with their two children.
